About Wordle Helper
Wordle gives you six guesses at a five-letter word. Each guess comes back colour-coded: green means the right letter in the right place, yellow means the letter is in the word but somewhere else, and grey means it is not in the word at all. This helper takes what those colours have told you so far and lists every word still possible.
The part people get wrong is repeated letters. If you guess a word containing two Es and the answer has one, Wordle marks one E yellow and the other grey — which does not mean "no E", it means "exactly one E". Handling that correctly is most of what separates a useful helper from a frustrating one.
How to use it

Fill in the green letters
Put any confirmed letters into the position boxes and leave the rest empty.

Add letters you know are in the word
List every letter marked yellow at some point. These must appear somewhere in the answer.

Add letters you have ruled out
List the letters marked grey. These are excluded entirely — unless the same letter also appears in the previous field, which is how you express a repeat.
Tips
Repeated letters: put the letter in both fields
Entering E in both "in the word" and "not in the word" means exactly one E — no more. Two Es in the first field plus one in the second means exactly two. This is how Wordle's own colouring works, expressed directly.
Guess to eliminate, not to win
When many candidates remain, the best guess is often a word you know is wrong but which tests several untried letters at once. Winning on guess four beats a lucky shot on guess two.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I handle repeated letters?
- Put the letter in both the "in the word" and "not in the word" fields. That combination means "exactly this many", which is precisely what a yellow and a grey copy of the same letter tell you.
- Does this tell me today's Wordle answer?
- No. It narrows the field based only on what you have entered. It has no knowledge of the daily puzzle and never fetches it.
- Why does it return so many words?
- Early in a game there is genuinely not enough information to narrow further. After two or three good guesses the list usually collapses to a handful.
- Are all the suggestions valid Wordle answers?
- Every solver here reads the same 228,320-word English word list, built from the English Speller Database and ENABLE. It is broader than the list any individual puzzle accepts, so it will surface valid-but-obscure words your game may reject — and it is not any game's official dictionary, so occasionally the reverse happens too. Wordle draws its answers from a much smaller curated list of around 2,300 words, and accepts a wider list as guesses, so plenty of valid English words here will never be the answer.
- Does this work with Hard Mode?
- Yes, and it fits Hard Mode naturally. Hard Mode requires every revealed green and yellow letter to be reused in later guesses, which is exactly the constraint you are already entering here — so every word returned is a legal Hard Mode guess.
- Can I use it for other five-letter word games?
- Yes. Anything using green/yellow/grey feedback on a fixed-length word works the same way.
